My sketchbook entries record quick impressions, inspirations, and observations from travels near and far. I use these sketches as a primary source for my work.

There's an immediacy to sketching that has always intrigued me. My sketches are intuitive; they capture a feeling or a moment, evocative of a place or experience. What's challenging for me as an artist is keeping that embodied fresh and soulful hand throughout the finished piece's design process.

Bringing these images to life with repurposed mooring buoys or industrial steel plates as my canvas presents its own set of challenges and opportunities.
